Now is the time to tell me that we run the country.

Now is the time to tell me that it’s cool or trendy to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, agender, non-binary, or any other marginalized sexual/gender identity.

Now is the time to mention that the segment of US politics that points at us (and many other groups) as destroying their comforting and familiar American Way of Life also vociferously demands weapons to kill the people they consider threats to their safety.

That is not a coincidence. It is a pattern of fiction created by privileged people It says the support less-privileged people get in order to be treated equally is political power which elevates us above them. It says that we are powerful enough to threaten them. It is a series of lies built for the sole purpose of motivating individuals to pick up guns and shoot a room full of unarmed Americans out of fear while the liars do nothing but offer empty condolences.

TV Characters Who Were Meant to be Queer

Whether by network decison, cancellation or ambiguous “changes”, some characters intended to be LGBTQ never were (so far, for some) in the canon of their show.

Though there is some overlap, not included are characters who the writers tried their best to make queer short of confirmation due to censors, including those who have been confirmed after the fact, like Dumbledore and Xena.

I don’t understand why everyone hates on straight pride. Just because straight people were never persecuted doesn’t mean we can’t be proud of who we are. We are free to celebrate ourselves alongside our homosexual brothers and sisters because, as of June 2015, we are their equals in the eyes of the law (although we have always been equals, in my eyes). But the thing about equality is either everyone is special or no one is.

This is it. This is the straightest fucking post I’ve ever seen.. I think my head is gonna implode.

I was reading this thinking it was satire…but then there was no punchline

The straights wanna be special now? Do they want all the shit that comes along with being special, or is that a little too much?

Do they want to be able to be fired for being special? For their specialness to be seen as inherently x rated and “unsuitable” for children? For their special relationships to be banned from school dances?

To be SO special that it is hard to get adoption approval? For people to think you are too special the way you are and that they need to rape you to fix it? So special that when you search the source of your own specialness on Google all you get are porn sites? To have the status of your super specialness questioned if you don’t conform to gender norms?

How special do they want to be?

The shittiest thing about what you’ve done here @chest-hole is that YOU LITERALLY PUT THIS SHITTY HOMOPHOBIC POST IN THE GAY PRIDE AND GAY MARRIAGE TAGS.

Please fucking punch yourself in the face.

Oh my goddd, I didn’t even read the tags. That is so fucking gross.

Glad the OP has deigned to tag his idea with gay marriage and gay pride so us gays would see it. Everyone stop all your gay shit f’r five minutes and listen to Straighty McNoOffenseGais. We all may not have a thought of this, but this special snowflake has some news to drop on us! Now that Gay Marriage is kinda-sorta legalish no one is treated special anymore!

We gays were unaware of this and I’m glad this straight boy—this girls-only man—this hetero-without-the-”te” hero–is here to tell us to check our motherfucking gay-ass privilege. History is over!

Every projection of a facet of the realities of LGBT life in media is met with accusations of pushing a political agenda, accolades that might’ve been straight folks in the entertainment industry buying tolerance cred, or–if everyone’s busy shouting about something else week–nothing but a character that’s just trying to add to a story or sell some god-damned soup. But that last one’s pretty rare.

Tonight we watched a half-dozen dimwits see who could promise harder to reverse all that equality and that’s the fucking bottom line: what rights we have are revocable in ways that your rights will never be.

Love yourself. Be happy you’re straight. Good on ya mate. Form your white straight pride group and have a ball. Now, me? I’m going to remember that kids grow up with heterosexual relationships normalized and considered harmless while homosexual relationships are considered dangerously–look up that word “dangerous”–sexualized, that children have gender hammered into them since birth, and that Kim Davis walked out of a police station to cheering throngs of people who are religiously convinced that we should not and do not exist. So yeah, we occasionally get together amidst that the unrelenting heaps of social messages telling us we should be one way when we’re not and tell each other those messages are wrong and that we should be proud of who we are. We need that shit sometimes.

I’m sorry if you’re aware of the hardships and uncertainty that LGBT folks live with and still think that your life is equally hard and want support from a similar group. Genuinely sorry because while things have been getting better for some of us (mostly homosexual white dudes like m’self), if you have to deal with shit that bad, you deserve support from folks. But whatever–whatever they are–whatever hardships you have in your life are not because you are straight.

My best guess? You saw LGBT folks had a single toy you didn’t and you crawled off a pile of toys, came into our neighborhood and asked us why we had–how we could possibly–possess a one fucking item you didn’t. And those tags are still on your post and you’re still bitching about how people are being mean to you. If you have bad things in life or bad things specifically because of this post, it’s because you’re the type of person who would stand in someone else’s neighborhood, demand their shit, and get hurt when they don’t bow down and worship your celestial fucking wisdom. That they’re not polite about ignoring you is just fodder to make yourself out as the injured party.

Kim Davis, a clerk in Rowan County, Kentucky is in jail right now for contempt of court. She refused to issue marriage licenses because she objected to the recognition of same-sex couples, despite a US Supreme Court decision that she should.

Less than a month ago, a Colorado court of appeals ruled against Jack Phillips for refusing to make a cake for a gay couple. Like Kim Davis, he cited his strong religious feeling as his reason for his discrimination against gays.

Putting aside for a moment three things:

1. If your religion demands that you sacrifice a child every full moon, you could not do that in America, because your religious beliefs do not allow you to break the law.

2. If you are of a pacifist faith, join the army, and then refuse to fight; you’d be in trouble not for your faith, but because if your job requires you to violate your faith, you should resign.

3. The United States does not give out permission slips from the Christian God and if you don’t understand the difference between God and The US Government, you don’t understand either very well.

Davis and Phillips aren’t opposed to gay marriages because of their deeply-held religious beliefs. They oppose gay people existing and their rationalizations for doing so should fall beneath the notice of civilized humans.

Their actions take place along a continuum of hate that stretches from 1940’s Europe to those motherfuckers right  here. These are not the actions of people who are living their life by their faith and who have been backed into a corner, forced to choose between their livelihoods and their beliefs.

You want to be a professional cake bigot in a state where being a cake bigot is illegal, move to a state where it is not. Or leave an industry that’s going to involve you in gay weddings. Or make wedding cakes for free for people you meet through your church and they donate X money to the church in return, and you get your cut. Or have another member of your staff make the cake and just collect that homosexual money. Or do the Jim Crow thing and pretend your cake queue is full and direct them to that nice gay bakery in town.

But no; out of the plentiful choices that these folks could make they have chosen to take roles which involve them in weddings, but allow them to stand in front of same-sex couples for the explicit purpose of getting that little power trip when they say “no.”

They are only there to hurt same-sex couples for existing and they fight to stay there because that’s all they want to do. They, and millions of people like them, do not want us to exist, much less be visible, much much less to live our lives without being reminded of how much they hate us.

You can say “Love the sinner, hate the sin” until you are blue in the face, but my affections–and yes, the consenting sex I have–are what I am and hating some of the most important parts of me outweighs any hollow utterances of generic love.

Folks who know I’m gay have pretended I am straight. Others have said I’m going through a phase. I’ve heard a few more imagine fantastic worlds where I am only homosexual because I was sexually assaulted, poorly parented, or because–and this is the most fantastic garbage–it’s popular. They will believe anything to pretend that there’s some startling origin story, justification, or alternative explanation instead of believing that I just like men.

Leah Alcorn’s parents thought the same way. They were so convinced that her identity as a female was exterior they pulled her out of school  and isolated her from her friends. Leah was cut off from these alleged influences for five months until she committed suicide in December of last year.

They do not want us to exist. They will take every opportunity to deny us, to tell us no, or to exclude us, not because it’s part of any ideology or deeply held belief, but because they feel supremely justified for punishing us until we no longer exist. One way or another.

Day 23 – An LGBT image that makes you cry or makes you angry.

Tyler Clementi, 18

Billy Lucas, 15

Harrison Chase Brown, 15

Cody J. Barker, 17

Seth Walsh, 13

And countless more. They never had to if they weren’t made to feel they needed to. These happy, beautiful faces would have still been walking on this earth if it weren’t for cruel, cold, disgusting judgement. Please help end this repulsive madness.
